The StEPS Pictorial Parent Information Letter supports low literacy parents to provide informed consent, enabling their child to participate in vision screening.

This innovative program replaces a page of words with six pictures that were created using computerised art modelling.

Program evaluation demonstrates an increase of consented children from Aboriginal and Cultural and Linguistically Diverse parents, positively impacting the number of children accessing early intervention support for vision disorders.
